They are not the same at all. I happen to have issues with both of them and all the alternatives I tried: if you want something like your desktop or laptop go with Ubuntu. If you have a more open mind try jolicloud.

No, they are not the same. Anything that deals with Cloud computing is active on line connections, where as Linux is only active through the network and the programs you use for the Internet. It’s a little hard to explain. The anti-virus scanner I use in Windows is connected with cloud computing and Immunet. It is a combined Anti virus. You would really need to visit the web site for Jolicloud and see if they explain exactly what it is and what it does.
