Ubuntu: Wireless does not reconnect after suspend/standby?

(In Ubuntu 8.10) The mobile greeting card may be working great, my only problem is that we suspend my computer more often than not when I’m doing something else. On resume, mobile doesn’t auto-reconnect and I always must run “sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart” in terminal.

Chipset is RTL8185.

How can the mobile instantly reconnect subsequent product standby?

You could try editing the ACPI resume scripts. I believe their is a script in /etc/acpi/resume.d called “acpi-pain.sh” or something like that to deal specifically with problems like that. Try adding the command to restart networking near the end.

Also, try filing a bug report on LaunchPad; they may be able to fix the driver or at least include the script automatically in future releases.
