Packet injection on Ubuntu 9. 04?
By Administrator on Dec 7, 2010 in Ubuntu Support
Is there a area I can download to have packet injection on Ubuntu 9.04? i’ve an Intel 5100agn wireless card, along with a Belkin Wireless G USB dongle. I’ve been looking near to on google, but I haven’t discovered anything yet.
Also, if it is possible, will it mess up how my wireless greeting card operates on Vista? I’m running Ubuntu on Virtualbox.

It depends if your wireless card’s/dongle’s chipset supports packet injection.
If it does you would not need aditional drivers if they already work, you just need a program like Aircrack. If neither supports packet injection you need to buy a card/dongle with a chipset that does.

I’d suggest a different OS. This is the purpose of BackTrack. Download BackTrack 3, learn it and you’ll be able to do everything you could possibly with networking and penetration testing.
BTW, Aircrack comes pre-installed in BackTrack!
Good luck
