How to hack windows using linux?

I have two working systems running on my computer, Linux and house windows xp, i boot to my linux initially since its more compact and easier to use. i will need some docs saved on my house windows xp profile but i’ve forgot the password. My laptop or computer doesn’t include an incredibly compact disc drive so i can make a boot disc.

Does anybody have learned to hack house windows xp password with linux.
If so, A best solution will be given give thank you to you.

I would recommend Trinity Rescue Kit.
You can also attack the SAM and SYSTEM files.

It’s been too long since I’ve had to do this, but there are probably a couple utilities and sites now which address the how-to side of this.

You can browse the Windows drive from Linux and find the file (probably somewhere under “Documents and Settings”). You should have an icon on the desktop to open up the Windows drive for browsing. Most Linux systems provide read-only access of Windows file systems, and you can also gain read-write access if you install ntfs-3g.

mount your windows file system in read write mode go to \windows\system32\config\
and rename the file sam to sam.bak and reboot. it will ask you for a new password just like it does when you first install. or your can get a hive tool and run it using dosbox to extract the usernames and passwords from the sam file using samdump
