ls -al [music directory name] > ~/mymusiclist.txt

Obviously replace “[music directory name]” with the directory your music files are contained in.

All it uses is the typical redirection operator (‘>’) to redirect the output of the directory listing (‘ls -al’) to the file “mymusicalist.txt” located in your home directory.
