How is Ubuntu for battery life on a laptop?

Works as well or better than windows on my Lenovo. (in ALL respects, but I’m referreing to power consumption here…) Although if Compiz is handling windows (3D desktop with effects) the battery life is a bit shorter due to increased resource usage.

I use a HP laptop. I think ubuntu is a good solution for a laptop better than other linux distributions. By comparing with XP, my choice is ubuntu.
