I desired to set up Ubuntu on my netbook, nonetheless it says you will require to have got a USB memory stick. could it be possible to work with an SD greeting card instead?

Yes, it is possible if the SD card is an option that can be used. To find out, I am sure if you tap either F11 or F12 the boot menu will come up. Locate the SD card reader; if problems locating, you may not be able to, sorry!

It might be a bit difficult, coz ubuntu is quite big, and it might not fit on your SD card :s
If it does, then life is good
If not, then you could try buying (or borrowing) a portable hard disk and save it on there

Yes. Just make sure the SD card reader is set to boot before the hard drive.
You can use UNetbootin to “burn” the Ubuntu .iso to your SD card. You’ll need at least 700 GB of free space, and the card should be formatted as FAT32.
